Gladys collected her receipts in two months to make this dress, which was awarded the first place in the Trashion Show 2020. As the designer and model, she challenges the idea that fashion is associated with consumerism and materialism. By making a dress entirely out of recycled material, she wants to prove that fashion is indeed for everyone. She invites the audience to pay attention to the waste we leave behind every day, and think of creative ways to transform them into something innovative.
Spectre, 2019
The struggle for freedom from the confinement of life. The cotton swabs resemble a neural network. The cage follows the structure of C60 (fullerene), giving reference to the biological context of life. The gloves cast shadows when lit and create a haunted effect. Their inflated quality generates physical and psychological tension, which expresses the anxiety of being trapped and the desire for freedom.
