Seattle

Seattle, 2022

Director/Cinematographer/Editor: Gladys Lou
Actor/Pianist/Songwriter: Victor Liu

Seattle is a capsule of the artist’s memories of the U.S. West Coast city during their study, capturing both the place and the people they encountered there. Combining poetry and performance, the video visualizes the psychological tensions of a graduating student: anxiety about the future, nostalgia for a place once felt as home, the joy of cherished moments, and the anticipation of newfound freedom and possibility. The work explores the dualities of dreams and reality, presence and absence, reflecting on the ephemeral nature of time and the quiet yet lasting impact we leave on those we meet in our lives.
